Count Zarth Arn, Watch Out!

Starcrash (or Star Crash, or Stella Star, or whatever you want to call it) on DVD. On Blu-Ray, yet (part of Shout! Factory's deal to release films owned or distributed by Roger Corman). The bad hair will look even better in digital clarity, and John Barry's score will blast from our speakers, and the very experience of watching it again will... all together now... "halt the flow of time!"

I was twelve when I saw this upon its US release, and there were younger kids, seven or eight, sitting in the row in front of me, laughing and openly mocking the special effects and the light saber knockoffs. At the time, that seemed only to prove what a dismal failure STARCRASH was--even little kids laughed at it. But when I think about that now, I realize they were at least having fun with it, and enjoying it on some level. It's hard to imagine children getting that much enjoyment, ironic or otherwise, from industrial-strength entertainment like IRON MAN 2 or ROBIN HOOD.

This turkey has the dubious honor of being the only movie I have ever walked out of before the end. Beyond laughable!

I have never seen an actor look more acutely embarrassed than Christopher Plummer in his 2 scenes in this movie.

To offer a sexist comment, there's really only two reasons to watch this movie.

I'm sorry, I had to.

On slightly more serious note, Caroline Munro's voice is dubbed, right?

Caroline Munro ? John Barry ? CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER ? Jesus. Who else was broke that year ?
