The Influence of Cartoons Can Be Found Everywhere

Case in point: listen to what the Yankees' famously obnoxious Bleacher Creatures are chanting:

I'm not sure what's the point of this "Wackiki Wabbit" wefewence, and I don't think I'm going to find out, because I have a limited appetite for research into the motivations of drunk Yankee fans.

Don't know if they still do it, but they also used to show WB cartoons on the right field jumbotron before the games at Yankee Stadium (I ended up seeing "Often an Orphan" one night when the Yanks were hosting Toronto, though obviously "Baseball Bugs" would be a more appropriate choice).

  3. Keep in mind that the denizens of the Yankee Stadium bleachers actually do a chant for John Sterling, the Ted Baxter of play-by-play (in other words, a pompous hack), so their taste should automatically be questioned. (In a just, alternate universe, Harry Kalas is the voice of the Yankees, and John Sterling is off doing the Hudson Valley Renegades.)
