Bum Bum, Bum-Bum Bum-Bum, Bum-Bum-Bum...
"Mission: Impossible," the complete first season, September 12. This of course is the Steven Hill season; I prefer him to his replacement, Peter Graves, but that might be the result of being indoctrinated by all those Law and Order reruns.
I remember as part of a summer day camp trip in 1966 going to the CBS headquarters in New York, where we were given a mini-tour of the facilities and then taken into a room to watch the MI pilot episode. Pretty violent stuff (for the time) to be showing to a bunch of 9-year-olds, but my main gripe was when I found out it would be replacing "The Munsters" in the CBS Thursday night lineup.
It might also be the fact that the 1st season of MI allowed for humor and character development, something specifically banned in future seasons.
